Dr Jennifer Ah Toy
Paediatric Surgeon
Jennifer grew up in Darwin and moved to Melbourne for her undergraduate studies at Monash University. Jennifer completed her training in Paediatric Surgery at Westmead Children’s Hospital in Sydney, and the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne. Since then, she has worked as a Fellow at the Queensland Children’s Hospital (formerly Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital) in Brisbane, while completing a Masters in Minimally Invasive Surgery through the University of Adelaide. Dr Jennifer Ah Toy works as a specialist paediatric surgeon within the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service, while operating privately at Pindara Private Hospital.
Jennifer has an interest in minimally invasive surgery for children and has trained broadly in all aspects of general paediatric surgery, including congenital head and neck conditions, thoracic surgery, gastrointestinal surgery, urology (including hypospadias) and paediatric burns and scar management. She is also passionate about training and education, currently serving as the Supervisor of Training for Paediatric Surgery at Gold Coast University Hospital. Jennifer is currently an instructor for the Definitive Surgical Trauma Care (DSTC) Course, and has previously served as the Younger Fellow representative on the Australian and New Zealand Association of Paediatric Surgeons Executive Committee and as an instructor for the Early Management of Severe Trauma course through the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons
